# Onboard power

Your camera and flight computer both need power sources that meet the specs provided by the manufacturers. If you purchased a [Preconfigured Cyclops System](/cyclops/cyclops-computer/preconfigured-cyclops-system.md), a BEC for voltage regulation is provided.

Cyclops requires a data connection between the camera and the flight computer. If you are using a **digital video camera** powered via USB-C or a similar cable, one cable can typically handle both the power and data connections.

If you are using an **analog video camera** (i.e. Runcam or other FPV camera), you will need an **analog to digital converter**. These modules are usually powered via USB and have low voltage limitations. If your camera requires a higher voltage power source, it should be powered separately.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Ensure your power supply has adequate current. Powering multiple devices (e.g. camera, external SSD) over USB will draw significant current.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
The system's current draw will increase while the system is under load.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
Your Cyclops camera and flight computer have adequate power sources.
